Spiritato! - Sound the Trumpet at Wiltshire Music Centre

On Wednesday 30th of September I performed with 'Spiritato!' in their lunchtime concert at the Wiltshire Music Centre, Bradford-on-Avon. The concert, entitled 'Sound the Trumpet', included music by Purcell, Corbett, Matteis, Albrici and Francescini. It explored the links between English and Italian styles.

We had performed similar programmes to this earlier this year at the Forge in Camden and at the Stroud Green Festival in London. This performance included particularly memorable moments from lead violinist Kinga Ujszaszi during the impressive solo in the Matteis.

Comments from audience members were exceptionally favourable and it seems that the trumpet duets were also a particular highlight for many.

The programme is brilliant and it worked very well as a lunchtime concert. After the performance there was an interesting and thoughtful post-concert Q&A session conducted by William Russell and Nicolas Mendoza.
