Bb Trumpet
I play a Yamaha YTR643 Bb Trumpet. I've had it for years and years now and it's seen me from bottom chair in my Youth Orchestra, to Principal Trumpet of the Senior Manx Youth Orchestra. I am now playing this Trumpet more regularily than ever as I am studying at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.

The trumpet has gained the name "Steve" and the second name "Laurie". This is because it is named after my brass teacher (who filled in my application for the RNCM with the opening statement of "I have been Russell's trumpet now for over 9 years" missing out the key word "teacher"!) and the second name was earned from my Auntie Mamie (Laurie) who bought it for me as a living inheritance - what a genius idea. I've had so much enjoyment out of it over the last 11 years (or more!) and it has become the standard by which I expect all instruments to perform to, although few have come close.
