Purcell - King Arthur - Vox Luminis - Valletta Baroque Festival
14 January 2024, 19:00I first visited Malta in January 2013, stepping in at very short notice to perform Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 [BWV 1047] in the Valletta Baroque Festival. (Incidentally, one of the violinists in that orchestra recalled that I could ‘jump in’ at short notice on that notorious piece, and she put my name forward to record that iconic concerto at very short notice as part of the Ansbach Bach
Charpentier - Te Deum - Vox Luminis - Musikfest Bremen
19 August 2023, 21:00Five years ago, I performed Delalande’s Te Deum with Vox Luminis in the Utrecht Early Music Festival. We performed the Te Deum four times, and four audiences walked between four different venues in Utrecht to hear four different programmes. We also used four trumpets, although only two parts were notated by the composer: I wrote trumpet parts for the occasion to ensure a good realisation
Schütz - Weihnachtshistorie - Vox Luminis - Recording - Gedinne
4 July 2023, 16:34Just a few days after performing Bach’s B Minor Mass with Vox Luminis at Wigmore Hall in London, I travelled to Belgium (via the Eurostar) to record Heinrich Schütz’s Weihnachtshistorie (‘Christmas Story’) [SWV 345] with Vox Luminis in Gedinne, in the tranquil Belgian countryside near the French border.I played the second clarino part, alongside Rudolf Lörinc, and a small continuo team comprising

Aldeburgh Festival 2019 - Vox Luminis - Snape Maltings
18 June 2019, 21:00‘Snape Maltings, Snape Maltings, Thank Benjamin Britten for Snape Maltings’ was the specially-written encore of Vox Luminis’ King Arthur performance at Snape Maltings in 2017. That memorable performance, exactly two years ago, was my first appearance with the group and there have been many exceptional projects in the interim, including performances at Versailles, the Utrecht Early Music Festival,
Handel - Ode for St Cecilia's Day - Vox Luminis - Royal Chapel, Versailles
8 December 2018, 22:00When I first visited the Palace of Versailles on a school history trip in March 2005 I would never have imagined that I would, one day, have the opportunity to play there as a professional trumpet player.
Since then I have performed and recorded in the Opéra Royal de Versailles with Les Talens Lyriques (often playing operas that were originally performed there, such as Lully’s Alceste and

The overall title of the opening night was Het Bourgondische

Vox Luminis - King Arthur - Recording - Antwerp
27 January 2018, 22:00Performing Purcell’s King Arthur at Snape Maltings with Vox Luminis was one of my highlights of 2017, so it was with great pleasure that I got the opportunity to visit Belgium for two days of recording with Vox Luminis. The ensemble was recording King Arthur at AMUZ (Augustinus Muziekcentrum) in the centre of Antwerp.
Arriving in Antwerp is certainly an impressive affair; Antwerpen-Centraal
Purcell - King Arthur - Vox Luminis - Snape Maltings - Aldeburgh Festival
22 June 2017, 21:00I was invited to join Vox Luminis for their performance of Purcell’s 'King Arthur' at Snape Maltings on Thursday 22nd of June 2017, as part of the Aldeburgh Festival. The festival is celebrating the 50th anniversary of music at Snape Maltings - one of the earliest examples of an ex-industrial building being repurposed as a performance space.
I was delighted to perform with Vox Luminis. I
