Natural trumpeters Russell Gilmour and Gareth Hoddinott joined Amici Voices on Thursday 27th February 2020 to play the final chorus (Dona Nobis Pacem) of Bach's B Minor Mass [BWV 232]. The performance was part of a 50th birthday celebration which took place near Hyde Park in London.

The ensemble, comprising just 5 instrumentalists and 4 singers, performed a short all Bach programme which began with Lobet den Herrn [BWV 230] and continued with the Agnus Dei from the B minor mass, which featured Louise Ayrton (violon) and Helen Charlston (alto). The performance concluded with Dona Nobis Pacem, with the trumpeters performing from an upstairs balcony opposite the rest of the ensemble.

It was a pleasure to play with Amici Voices again after our performance of Bach's Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben [BWV 147] in Harpenden earlier this month.
