I played first trumpet in Handel's Messiah with the Purcell Orchestra on Sunday the 13th of December 2015 in St. Mary Abbots Church, near High Street Kensington in London.

The choir were a small and excellent group of vocalists, called the 'St Mary Abbots Singers'. They sailed their way through the Messiah under the clear direction of their conductor Mark Uglow.

It was a very pleasant performance and there was a good audience in this large church. By coincidence, I teach the trumpet at the school next door to the church and I had invited the students to come with their parents, though in the darkness I could not see into the audience to be able to tell if any of them had been able to attend. Perhaps I will find out in the new year when I next visit the school.

It was an enjoyable performance and many thanks to all those involved.
