Headington School in Oxford put on a concert showcasing the talents of their thriving Music Department [@MusicHSO] on Thursday 24th November 2016.

The programme featured an array of the school ensembles. The school choir had chosen to sing John Rutter’s ‘Gloria’ and a number of professional brass players joined them. There were also three very good brass players from the school playing in the brass group - they did an excellent job.

The performance was exciting throughout and the students gave their all in this thrilling work.

After the ‘Gloria', the choir sang 'The Gift of Music' by John Rutter as a touching farewell encore for one of their long-serving string teachers, who will be leaving the school to live abroad. He, and of course the performers, received a standing ovation at the end of the concert and there was hardly a dry eye in the hall.

Congratulations to all at Headington School. It is so pleasing to see such a thriving Music Department in action. Thanks to Mr. Hoddinott for fixing the brass group and to Mr. Hutchings [@jjhutchings] - the conductor and Head of Music at Headington School.
